The summer months are when the potatoes grow very quickly, with a little help from the sun, the soil and rain
Kill off weeds just before plants pop through.
Protect from diseases and feed and water where appropriate.
August / SeptemberPotatoes
The potatoes achieve their best size during this time. Their skins then set ready for harvest.
Take off stem/leaves which sends message to potatoes to stop growing and set their skin, preparing for storage.
October / November / DecemberPotatoes
The potatoes sit dormant in storage
Harvest as early as possible, place them in stores on farm. Keep them in dormant state in store.
